In 1963 Allen W. Lindsay, Sr., opened a one man law practice in downtown Milton at the age of 51. The senior Lindsay had come to west Florida as a Naval aviator and married a local girl, Mary C. Fisher. He later farmed/ranched and had a contracting business. In 1958, the contracting business was sold and Mr. Lindsay went back to college to pursue his life-long dream of being an attorney. In 1967 his son, Allen W. Lindsay, Jr. (Butch), joined him at the Willing Street address.

Over the years the firm has had various other partners and associates, the latest of whom was Heather Lindsay who joined the firm in 2008 and left for the public sector in 2019. Heather is now a full time attorney for the City of Pensacola and serves as Mayor of the City of Milton.

For more than 50 years the firm has represented several elected officials including the Santa Rosa County Property Appraiser’s office, the Tax Collector’s Office, six of the last eight Sheriffs, and for 41 years, the City of Milton. Some of these former clients have converted to in-house full time attorneys.

In the last 50 years, the firm has practiced in Florida and Alabama , in many different areas of law. Currently, the firm has an active civil practice in both Northwest Florida and South Alabama in the following areas of practice: General Civil, Corporate, Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Accidents and Injuries, Real Estate, Trial Law and Wills and Estates, Wrongful Death, Environmental Law and Toxic Tort (including asbestos-related lung cancer/mesothelioma, crude oil and petroleum exposure, styrene and amine/ammonia poisoning).
